Units of competency
Upon completion of this course, the following unit(s) will be issued by ABC Licence Training Pty LTD – RTO 3399
HLTAID009 – Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
HLTAID010 – Provide basic emergency life support
HLTAID011 – Provide First Aid
HLTAID012 – Provide First Aid in an education and care setting
Course duration
For the express course, pre course learning duration time for this course is up to 2.5 Hours.
For the express course – Face to Face minimum duration is 1 Hour.
Pre-requisites
There are no formal prerequisite units required for entry into this course. Learners will require English language, literacy, and numeracy (LLN) skills.
Entry requirements
Learners undertaking the express course must have previously completed the HLTAID012 – Provide First Aid in an education and care setting.
Training requirements
Face to face training consists of theory presentations and range of practical learning activities and scenarios.
For students enrolling in a virtual delivery course, a training kit will be posted to students once the enrolment and payment information has been received in full.
Assessment requirements
Assessment activities will include a knowledge test and practical assessments including CPR and First Aid techniques. Students will also complete scenarios in a simulated environment.
Course renewal requirements
The statement of attainment is valid for 3 years*.
*Please note that the CPR component of the training is valid for 12 months and should be updated annually.

Upon successful completion of the course once all assessment requirements are met and full payment has been received, you will be issued a Statement of Attainment for HLTAID009, HLTAID011 and HLTAID012. Students completing this course will gain the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to infants and children in line with first aid guidelines determined by the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) and other Australian national peak clinical bodies. This unit applies to a range of workers within an education and care setting who are required to respond to a first aid emergency, including asthma and anaphylactic emergencies. This includes early childhood workers and educators who work with school-age children in outside school hours care and vacation programs Upon completion of this course, the following unit(s) will be issued by ABC Licence Training Pty LTD – RTO 3399.
